Dr. Brodsky graduated from Syracuse University, where he received the Faigle Award for Outstanding Senior. He attended Upstate Medical University, receiving the Gurman Award for Outstanding Senior. Dr. Brodsky was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, National Medical Honorary Society. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and recognized for Advanced Achievement in Internal Medicine. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Brodsky is a long-standing member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Maryland State Medical Society, and the Montgomery County Medical Society. For over 30 years, he has been a leading proponent in the field of functional medicine. In response to the obesity epidemic, Dr. Brodsky sought advanced training and certification in obesity medicine and lifestyle medicine. He is an active member of the Obesity Medical Association, and The Obesity Society, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
As an educator, Dr. Brodsky served on the Clinical Faculty of Georgetown University Medical School. Since 2005, he has served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at George Washington University Medical School and is actively involved in the clinical teaching program. Dr.Brodsky has been recognized by his peers as a Top Doctor in the Washingtonian Magazine, and by his patients in the Washington Checkbook. He was also recognized as a Top Internal Medicine Primary-Care Physician in the Washington Consumer Checkbook.
